I love the interface and the convention hints
This is a good bridge app but it times out.
The app is ruined because deals are not random. The key finesse is always off, trumps dont break, etc. If you have AQ the King is offside 99% of the time. OK that is an exaggeration, since it is actually offside 100% of the time. Play for the stiff King, that at least works some of the time. And I am getting really tired of the defense coming up with the magic singleton opposite an Ace to beat otherwise good contracts. The app also cheats - when you defend the declarer will not take a losing finesse when it is logical to do so, and plays a suit the wrong way instead, except as the cards lie it works. I have played way, way too much real bridge, and know this is NOT random probability. Good contracts that make most of the time dont make here because the normal laws of probability dont apply. And there you go, you just wasted money to play a lousy hand with bad breaks. Why does No Fun Bridge go out of their way to do this to you??? Dont say you werent warned. Update: all of above still true.
I enjoy playing the hands and do like telling me where I stand against other players. I would like to have "more info" on how I played the game i.e. how to replay the hand correctly for best contract.
Fun App. Sometimes computer bids dont match descriptions. A lot of 18+ point hands.
Nice feature not on Bridgebase: if your partner is the declarer, rotates cards 180° so you always play the hand. Explanations of bids better than Bridgebase. Easier to select tha card too play. Better post-hand options and analysis. Negative: no way to set bidding conventions, and they arent the way Id prefer them.
Great. I really enjoy it.4 stars quite addictive!
Fun game, lousy programming. Update: much improved over the year I have been playing. Still needs some programming work but it will come. Enjoy it more than the others I have. But, it is not free, but 500 tournaments lasts at least 6weeks for me. Depends on how much you play. Apparently the PC version is different in many ways. Definitely would buy again. Update March 2013, seems to be making good improvements. Still confusing partner bids with no explanation.
Hadnt played bridge in over 25 years FunBridge is a great way to get back in and get some of the rust off my brain. Also have enjoyed both playing with my wife against the bots, as well as challenging her on bidding and playing the same hands. Great program! Thanks!
This game is fun and a great tool for relearning bridge, better than any other Ive tried.
Great tool for getting back in the swing, going through bidding conventions etc.
I like fun bridge but wish there was more in-depth explanation about how to make challenging contracts.
Keep getting "request timed out" messages. Froze on me in the middle of a hand. I do like the bidding info that tells me what each bid signals, and I like the play interface. Its good for me, someone who is coming back to bridge after not playing for many years and was never more than a beginner at that. Overall, a decent app, just wish they would work out the bugs.
Although it is not easy to set up the conventions I like to use, I enjoy using FunBridge. Its interesting to see other contracts reached and made. I often replay a hand several times to see how improvements can be made.
Has a slick UI/UX that makes playing more fun. Very useful for learning, especially for beginners. The engine makes some funny calls at times but its notoriously difficult to teach computers (and some humans
The program provides the opportunity for the student to learn various conventions and styles of play. I am very pleased with the program and the responsiveness of the application on my iPad and also on my iMac!!!
Why does the app say unlimited practice when after a few sessions, youre told to pay up.
Its not free and some of the conventions seem a little strange, but it is the best bridge app Ive found so far. I started as a beginner 1 1/2 years ago and have tried 5 apps. This one has been the best by far. I like the convenience and versatility of the different ways to play and choices of conventions. I also like being able to see how others played the hands so I can see how to improve my play.
Fun bridge gives you the opportunity to practice your game, then when youre more comfortable you can participate in tournaments and see how you rank among other players. Then if you want to play against others online you can get more of your competitive juices going. And like real life your computer partner could be a pro or a lousy bidder.
